Education

Graduate of a commercial institute (personally specialized in marketing), 1968. Managerial skill course, 1981. Non-commissioned police officers merit certificate 1983, crime investigation course and other special courses in the police branch. Master of Laws from the University of Helsinki 1985, training on the bench 1988. Also completed accuser course, basic training in guarding and furthermore insurance and search manager's courses. Studied English, Swedish and Spanish in addition to other languages.

Working experience

Experience in safety business since 1971. Police work in crime investigation 12 years between 1973-1985 (constable and police sergeant). Rural police chief and assistant rural police chief deputyships in different police districts about 5 years in all between 1983-1991. Guarding work between 1971-1973, security school director between 1995-1997 and work as an attendant between 1972-1976, also working earlier in the insurance business, relief organisation, local newspaper reporting and trade- and marketing business. Principal of an open college site 8 months in 1994. My own company T:mi Laki- ja turvakonsultti VT Kari Maukonen since 1991: advocacy, juridical training and about 100 different courses related to security business.

Military rank: sergeant, non-commissioned clerical officer
